What a joy to be a presenter at the the last  SCBWI Vic meeting for 2017. My talk about Writing Children's Nonfiction was well received, the venue at the Docklands Library was stunning, and the chance to meet up with such talented friends and colleagues was great.

Fun news for the end of 2016:

I have signed up for Becky's Picture Book Reading Challenge 2017, which I found via KidLit411. It promotes reading picture books to everyone (including adults), which is a wonderful thing, and you need read no more than 6 books in the year, which is not so demanding! If you are interested in it too, here's the link

I am very excited to reveal this fun cover image by Jay Fontano for my story, GILLY'S TREASURES. This will be my first trade fiction picture book, and will be published by Cedar Fort, Inc. in the United States in October this year. Yippee!

The DISCOVERING GEOGRAPHY series (for which I co-authored ENVIRONMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITY with Sarah Russell) won the Educational Publishing Award 2015 (Primary student resource - Arts/Science/Humanities section). Congrats to Pearson Schools and the whole team who put the series together.
